The Science of Memories

How you store and recall information, problem solve, and why your brain is not a computer

This unit involves learning:

  • How your brain and nervous system function to encode, store, retrieve, and reconstruct your experiences
  • How you learn and remember skills
  • How your memory uses relevant information to connect ideas and solve problems
  • How your brain’s memory functions differently from a computer's memory, which does not alter information once it is saved
